BAF Global hosted its 4th annual Dance for Diabetes event this weekend, bringing the community together for a morning of movement, awareness, and wellness. The initiative was held in partnership with the Public Hospitals Authority and the Bahamas Diabetes Association (BDA), the beneficiary of 100% of the event’s proceeds. A total of $1,640 was donated to the BDA to support its diabetes outreach efforts.
Alliyah Austin, BAF Global’s Marketing Coordinator, shared that “it is a pleasure to do this for the Bahamas Diabetes Association and to come together for health, fitness, and fun. At BAF Global, we’re big on health and preventative care, and promoting healthier lifestyles.” She noted that BAF is committed to addressing health concerns that affect underserved communities throughout The Bahamas.
BDA President Lyndianna Rahming expressed her gratitude, adding that the funds will be used to expand the association’s existing wellness programs and educational initiatives, stating, “Education is key, and we hope to put on more and more educational classes.”
Dance for Diabetes continues to serve as both a fundraiser and a public education tool, reminding Bahamians that prevention, early awareness, and lifestyle changes play a crucial role in managing and reducing the impact of diabetes across the country.
