GREETINGS FRIENDS & FAMILY

I am delighted that you’ve taken time, on the Lord’s day, to fellowship with me and to hear my vision for our community.

As you know, I am a son of the soil. My family is your family. Your family is mine. And, when you’re family, trust is at the cornerstone.

You’ve trusted me before as your Deputy Chief Counselor. You trusted that I’d get the job done. You supported each of my efforts and I ask for your trust and support once more.

Trust—that is not something that I take lightly, and neither should you.

During my tenure, I aimed to improve your living conditions. Basic essentials like cribs for your babies to sleep, a secure roof over your heads, safe spaces for your kids to play. But, there’s more work to be done.

My Manifesto focuses on three pillars: Social Services, Infrastructure & Education.

As your Chief Counselor, post-natal care would be at the forefront. Along with access to reliable & affordable emergency resources, including an ambulance, airlift services & functioning fire hydrants. With your support, hurricane preparedness will not be an afterthought, but a priority! Food assistance will not be a crutch, but a ladder.

As your Chief Counselor, our community will no longer be littered with abandoned buildings. My manifesto outlines a plan to replace these ugly spaces with public parking and a Doctors’ residence. Together, we will make health care accessible. Through a partnership with local clinics and the Sandilands Rehabilitation Center, mental health will be a priority!

At the top of my Education agenda is adult learning. There’s a saying that I’m sure you’ve heard: ‘You can’t teach an old dog new tricks.’ Well, I beg to differ. We have benefitted from our elders’ wisdom. Is it not time we gave back to them?

These are the highlights of my manifesto, but you are encouraged to read more in the pamphlets given to you. I’ll be happy to discuss them in length with you after this presentation. Until then, I leave you with these final thoughts:

I love this place. Truthfully, there’s nowhere else I’d rather live.

Some say that a vote for me is a vote for the white man. I don’t see it that way at all, but rather I am a bridge between the public and private sectors. Use me! We want to see significant changes to our education system, social services & infrastructure. Am I right?! We must insist that the permanent residents DO THEIR PART. They should do some of the heavy lifting! Why should they get a pass?! Eleutherans must work with all residents to get the job done. These past few years have taught us, we can move mountains when we work together. When we trust one another.

Trust that I will get the job done! In a few short days, as you make your way to the polls, I hope that you’d keep these things top of mind. God Bless you & your families
